PTV advertising break - The Flying Scotsman

mikeCheck out the trip of Mike, an Australian friend, who occasionally gets the urge to go pedal his ass off in distant lands.  This isn’t his first nutcase bike trip but it is definitely one worth noting.  I’ve pasted a couple of his pics in this post.

Here’s the description of the trip straight from the cyclist’s mouth:

mike5“On 2 September, I took the train from Paris to London and then to Edinburgh. Amazingly, I survived riding on the other side of the road in London. I stayed a few days in Edinburgh and then went to the town of Stirling in the north, famed for its castle…except that I never saw it because it was raining and there was a dense fog because it is up on a high hill. Then, I realised that I actually didn’t need to come to this town at all and be soaking wet because i had got my towns mixed up on where I was going to meet my Scottish cyclist friend.

mike2So, I headed west. Go west young man! was the battle cry in rain that never stopped. And so, I arrived at the foot of the Highlands at Loch Lochmond, about 20 miles north of Glasgow. My cycling friend gave me all the best routes to follow, “West is Best” he cried. “Freedom!”

mike3So onwards more west I went to Isle of Mull, then up to Isle of Skye and back down in a clockwise fashion to Ben Nevis (highest mountain in UK) and Glencoe before arriving in Glasgow.”

So without further jibberish, here is the link to Mike’s Flickr Album.
